My ERP and Me: The Better Alternative To MIS
Let’s start out by explaining exactly what an ERP is. An ERP is an Enterprise Resource Planner, which is the integrated management of core business processes, often in real-time and mediated by software and technology. In layman’s terms, this is a system that collects, processes, stores, retrieves, and transmits information to users while making a managerial judgment in its decisions. This is collectively the same as an MIS system, with one main, and very critical difference. Managerial decision making understands all elements of a business. From finance and employees to marketing and customer services.
Why is this important? To run a business with one single vision is often very difficult. Business’ nowadays is growing at rapid rates and trying to keep up with technology and customer expectations is not an easy task. Keeping your business modal consistent is what brings back your customers. Don’t believe me?
What would you do if you went to a Starbucks’s and ordered a fancy drink that sets you back $12? You receive your drink, and when you take your first sip you realize its nothing more than hot water with a sprinkle of coffee beans. Pretty upsetting right? The expectation of the same quality of drink at every location, no matter what! This is the same logic that your customers have when placing print orders with your company. You need to turn projects out fast, with great quality, and on-time. Drop the ball once and your customer’s doubt will always be lingering.
Your Answer is Origami Workflow
This is where an ERP comes into the picture. Origami was developed as an ERP to specifically deal with decision making and complete workflow visibility. We wanted to create a system that could handle data in real-time, make managerial decisions, and ultimately have a single fluid system that would integrate all business processes. From being able to quote best-priced scenario estimates to real-time alerts with open purchase orders. Our software was designed to give small to medium sized printing companies the same strategic advantages as a large print shop.
Now, there is software that offers the same solution that we do. Take EFI Pace, for example, this is considered the most robust system on the market, and it probably is. However, it will set you back half a million dollars plus monthly fees, will take you months to onboard, and once that’s done, you’re going to want to hire an MIS Administer as well. Any changes you’d like to make within that system will require a Ph.D.
Origami is simple to use and we will set it up for you. We will show you how to add machines or make changes if needed. It is robust and won’t require you to hire more people to run it. It is $150 per user per month plus a one-time setup fee. The setup fee will range depending on the company size but starts at $1,800. Need help making the decision? Give us a call. We will show you how your return on investment will be within 18 months.
